BeBrief ("the App") is a pre-flight planning application for VFR pilots. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

Information We Collect

Account Information

• Apple ID email (if you sign in with Apple) - used for account authentication
• User ID - anonymous identifier for syncing your preferences

Usage Data

• Airports you search for and brief
• Aircraft profiles you create
• App preferences and settings
• Diagnostic crash/error events (for app stability)

We Do NOT Collect

• Location data
• Flight tracking information
• Personal flight logs
• Payment information (handled by Apple)

How We Use Your Information

• Authentication: To sign you in and sync your data across devices
• Personalization: To remember your home airport, aircraft, and preferences
• Subscription Management: To verify your Pro subscription status

Data Sources

Weather data displayed in BeBrief is sourced from:

• NOAA Aviation Weather Center (aviationweather.gov) - METARs, TAFs
• National Weather Service - Winds aloft forecasts
• FAA - NOTAMs and airspace information

This data is provided for reference purposes only and should not be used as a substitute for an official weather briefing from 1800wxbrief.com or FSS.

Third-Party Services

Supabase

We use Supabase for authentication and data storage. Data is stored securely in the United States. Supabase Privacy Policy

RevenueCat

We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions. They process subscription status only - no payment details. RevenueCat Privacy Policy

Sentry

We use Sentry for crash reporting and error diagnostics. By default, BeBrief configures Sentry with PII collection disabled and session replay disabled unless explicitly enabled in deployment configuration. Sentry Privacy Policy

Apple

Sign in with Apple is processed by Apple. Apple Privacy Policy

Data Retention

• Account data is retained while your account is active
• You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the app settings
• Diagnostic error events are retained according to third-party provider policies

Data Security

• All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS encryption
• Authentication is handled by trusted identity providers and Supabase Auth; plaintext passwords are never stored by BeBrief
• Database access is protected by Row Level Security

Children's Privacy

BeBrief is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Delete your account and data
• Export your data
